OTB has been appointed as a Tunnel Designer for the Northern Line Extension, which will connect the new developments at Battersea and Nine Elms into the London Underground network. Tunnelling is due to start in early 2017.
OTB is responsible for the design of all SCL tunnels east of Battersea Station, including the tricky junction to be made to the existing Northern Line at Kennington, capacity enhancement works at Kennington Station, and the cross-passages. OTB will undertake design of both the permanent and temporary tunnel linings and ground support systems.
